01What information is useful to start with?
Company name and ticker, authorized and outstanding shares, DTC position, public float, transfer agent, reporting standard and fiscal year end. Blank fields can remain blank; they should never be filled by guesswork.
02How should public records and owner-supplied terms be separated?
SEC EDGAR, FINRA OTC and OTC Markets links are public research entry points. Terms supplied by a seller, adviser or shell owner should stay labelled as supplied information, not be presented as an official conclusion.
03Why use a controlled link instead of repeatedly sending Word files?
One link can retain the current version and use a password, expiry, recipient acknowledgement or revocation when needed. It cannot prevent screenshots or copying after access, so sensitive information still needs your own confidentiality process.
